Practice 03 · Offensive Security & Enterprise Resilience

Think like the adversary. Recover like an institution.

Testing that shows exactly what an attacker could reach, and the resilience that decides how well you absorb the day something gets through.

Prevention is a hypothesis. Testing is the evidence.

Every security program rests on assumptions: segmentation holds, admin functions stay admin-only, backups restore. We test them from both directions.

Offensive work measures how far an attacker gets. Resilience work measures how well you detect, contain and recover.

Security testing

How far could an attacker get?

Application, network and cloud testing are covered in depth on the Penetration Testing page.

Core service · Penetration testing

Application penetration testing

Authenticated web and API testing across every role, business logic included.

Application testing
Penetration testing

Network penetration testing

External exposure, lateral movement, directory attack paths and segmentation.

Network testing
Penetration testing

Cloud penetration testing

Identity escalation and workload compromise in AWS, Azure and Google Cloud.

Cloud testing
Mobile

Mobile application security testing

iOS and Android apps tested against OWASP MASVS, together with the APIs behind them.

  • Local storage, transport and pinning
  • Hard-coded secrets and debug paths
  • Back-end authorization and data exposure
Human & physical

Social engineering & physical testing

Phishing, pretexting and physical entry under signed authorization. Reports cover processes, not named individuals.

  • Phishing with reporting-rate analysis
  • Help-desk identity verification
  • Tailgating, badges and terminal tamper checks
Vulnerability assessments

Breadth, judgment and ownership.

Accurate asset coverage, triage that strips out the noise, and a named owner for every fix.

Run the sample assessment

A synthetic assessment of a fictional company. Watch discovery and triage run, then sort the findings by contextual priority.

  • Authenticated scanning (PCI DSS 11.3.1.2)
  • CVSS combined with EPSS, CISA KEV and exposure
  • Manual validation of high-impact findings

Enterprise assurance

The disciplines that decide how bad a bad day gets.

Resilience is a set of decisions made before an incident.

Ransomware resilience

Assume encryption. Plan the recovery.

Attackers go after identity and backups first. We test whether you can restore from backups they could not reach.

  • Readiness mapped to the attack lifecycle
  • Backup isolation and restore testing
  • Executive tabletop exercises
Read: Ransomware recovery is a control
Enterprise risk management

Cyber risk in the risk committee’s language.

Appetite, tolerances and indicators that move when the risk moves, aligned with ISO 31000, COSO and NIST CSF 2.0.

  • Taxonomy and register
  • Board reporting pack
  • Scenario-based quantification
Continuity & disaster recovery

Plans that survive a real outage.

Business impact analysis, RTOs and RPOs, then proof through exercises. Aligned with ISO 22301 and DORA.

  • BIA with recovery objectives
  • Dependency mapping, third parties included
  • Exercises from tabletop to full recovery
DORA readiness
Privacy & data protection

Privacy obligations, engineered in.

The technical side of GDPR and CCPA/CPRA, delivered hand in hand with your counsel and DPO.

  • Data discovery and records of processing
  • DPIA support and privacy by design
  • ISO/IEC 27701 readiness
How the practice works

From a finding to a closed risk.

  1. 01 · Discover

    Model the threat

Who attacks, what they want and what you cannot afford to lose.

  2. 02 · Assess

    Test the assumption

Tests and exercises that produce hard evidence.

  3. 03 · Remediate

    Close the path

Prioritized fixes, each with an owner.

  4. 04 · Validate

    Prove the fix

Retest until the path is closed.

  5. 05 · Sustain

    Keep it closed

    Scanning, exercises and risk reporting.

FAQs

Common questions.

Vulnerability assessment or penetration test first?

If you lack a reliable inventory or scanning program, start with a vulnerability assessment. A penetration test delivers the most value once that baseline exists.

Are your vulnerability scans valid for PCI DSS?

Yes. Internal quarterly scans under 11.3.1 can be run by qualified personnel, and ours are authenticated as 11.3.1.2 requires. Quarterly external scans for PCI DSS 11.3.2 must come from a PCI SSC Approved Scanning Vendor. We coordinate with your ASV and help evidence failing results.

Do social-engineering reports name employees?

No. We report on controls and processes in aggregate, and every campaign is agreed in advance with HR and legal.

Can you prepare us for ISO 22301 or ISO/IEC 27701 certification?

Yes. We take you through readiness, remediation and a pre-assessment so you walk into the certification audit prepared.
